Dr. Pankaj Agarwal


Dr. Pankaj Agarwal is a cleantech expert, entrepreneur and investor with over 20 years’ experience in financing, business development and commercialization of new technologies in the renewable energy sector. His focus is on combining innovative business models with solar PV, wind energy, energy storage, smart grids and e-mobility to deliver Smart Energy. He is the founder and CEO of Panitek Power AG, an investment firm, based in Liechtenstein, Switzerland and India and active in the field of cleantech, new materials and deployment of new and sustainable technologies worldwide. In 2007 he co-founded and was the CEO of Indian Energy Limited, an India focused renewable energy IPP which listed on the London Stock Exchange (AIM) in 2009 and was acquired by Infrastructure India PLC in 2011. He is advisor to several technology companies in Europe and North America. Pankaj has a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from University of Florida, Gainesville, MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management and Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India. Pankaj has published over 40 papers in International Journals has contributed to books and magazines and holds 1 patent.

Christoph Ospelt


Christoph Ospelt is the founder and CEO of Lenum AG in Liechtenstein. He is also co-owner and managing director of the sister company EK Energiekonzepte in Zurich. The focus of Lenum and EK is on building sustainability, energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies. After studying environmental sciences at ETH Zurich, Christoph Ospelt worked as a research assistant at the Laboratoire d'énergie solaire of the EPF Lausanne. He then continued his education as a Master of Science in Building Technology at the MIT, where he also worked as a research assistant. His current research activity at the University of Liechtenstein, as well as his practical consulting work, deal with the issue of sustainable construction, its measurability, and, above all, how sustainability in the construction project can be implemented in practice.

Florian Kind


Florian joined Panitek in 2018 as a project manager. He is a technical expert in the area of energy and electrical engineering with focus on sustainable technologies. He has many years experience in project and process management, particularly in high-tech SMEs. Prior to joining Panitek, Florian worked at a Swiss engineering company where his focus was on providing efficient products for fuel cells, heat pumps and process industries. Before that he was a hardware development engineer and project manager at BRUSA, a leading Swiss design and development services company, in electric mobility. At BRUSA, Florian worked on innovative charging and energy conversion solutions for several years. He started his career as a development engineer at ABB, a leading industrial technology company. Florian obtained a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from ETH Zurich where he also worked as a research assistant in the laboratory of power electronic systems.

Dr. Parag Vyas


Parag has worked for over 25 years in the energy and transport sectors. Previously, he was Head of Technology at Aggreko PLC and Head of Advanced Concepts Centre at Rolls-Royce PLC. Parag is a UK Chartered Engineer, has an engineering degree from Imperial College, London and a doctorate from the University of Oxford. He is a Fellow of the UK Institution of Engineering and Technology.

Rupert Strachwitz


Rupert is a corporate finance specialist with over 30 years’ experience in financial services. He co-founded an Indian renewable energy business with Pankaj which they listed on the London Stock Exchange AIM in 2009. He is a director of an SME trade finance technology company and the CEO of Velocity Credit Ventures, a provider of trade credit to UK companies.

Anjan Merkap


Anjan Kumar Merkap is an Instrumentation and Control Engineer from Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal and Post Graduate Diploma in Management in Finance from Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Nagpur. In a short span of time, he has gained vast experience working across Industrial Automation and Financial Services. He joins Panitek as Manager - Business Development for Indian Operations. Anjan has a strong technical background in energy and automation solutions being involved with Schneider Electric, Yokogawa India Limited and Aditya Birla Group in the past. He has also worked with CRISIL as analyst, supporting S&P Global Ratings with cash flow modelling, analysis and rating outcomes of structured debt instruments.

Arjun Arya


Arjun Arya is a mechanical engineer from BITS Pilani and has a Master of Science degree from Swiss Institute of Technology Lausanne in Energy Management and Sustainability. Through his studies and projects, he has developed strong interests in the field of renewable energy along with sustainable waste management and water technologies. He joins Panitek as Lead Engineer in new technologies, with his key role in techno-economic studies of innovative clean techs and further assessment of the scope of these technologies in the Indian context. He has also co-founded an Indian NGO called Environmentalist Foundation of India working on lake restoration. Arjun has also worked with national projects in the field of biogas for Switzerland and waste to energy in UAE.


Martin Wittwer

Martin sits on the supervisory board of Panitek. He has over 30 years’ experience in cross border advisory to India and other emerging markets. Martin is a partner at Pioneering Venture, a Swiss and Indian platform investing in agro based ventures in India. He holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago and a licentiate degree in Economics from the University of St. Gallen HSG.

Akshay Jaitly

Akshay is president of 262 Advisors, based in Paris. He advises Indian, French and other international clients on cross-border strategy and risk management. Previously, Akshay co-founded Trilegal, a leading Indian law firm, and has over 25 years of experience. He was rated as one of India’s top energy and Infrastructure lawyers for over a decade. Akshay has a BA in History from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, a masters in International Affairs from Columbia University and a law degree from Oxford University.

Dr.Otto C.Frommelt

Otto is a Business Ambassador of Panitek. He is a qualified Expert in Strategy Development, Scenario Planning and Foresight studies. He has management expertise and significant international experience within the automotive industry, governmental administration, non-profit organisations and innovative start-up companies.   Otto holds an MBA from Warwick Business School and a DBA in Strategy and Scenario Planning from the Nottingham University Business School.
