Inauguration of IoT enabled smart lighting project at TERI Gram

New Delhi, 21st Oct 2021

The IoT enabled smart lighting project at TERI Gram was inaugurated by Panitek Power, TERI and eSave with His Excellency Dr. Ralf Heckner, ambassador of Switzerland to India and Bhutan, being the chief guest this evening.

Dr. Vibha Dhawan spoke at the event mentioning that such innovative smart projects are the need of the hour and make sense not only for urban spaces but also for rural or remote areas.

Rico Karmer, CEO eSave was also present at the event and talked about how environment friendly the smart lighting system proved to be at the installation back in Switzerland.

The smart lighting project of 21 streetlights was installed at TERI Gram campus by Panitek Power and Ajay Goel, BrightLED. eSave was the technology provider of the smart controllers, gateway and centralise dashboard used in the project.

The Smart Lights, have dimmable controllers and motion sensors. When there is no movement, the lights would remain dim and automatically increase the brightness only when they detect motion on the street.

The project was installed at the start of the year (Feb’21) and data analysis showed significant energy saving (>70%) compared to keeping the lights at full brightness. The solution also has a 2.5 PM sensor that collects data on air quality.
